In this section, seven issues of Key magazine. First published by Beverly Hills resident Ben Jaffe in 1938, the weekly guide to the city was available at most hotels, clubs, and restaurants; allowing male tourists an opportunity to find the best meal as well as the finest burlesque house.
Jaffe’s brother Sam published periodicals including Palm Springs News, and Palm Springs Pictorial.
In the 1950s, Jaffe, formerly operator of a scenic tour organization, published pocket guides to Europe, working with Charles Richmond Jacobs.
The publication was later taken over by Louis Rangno and his wife, Diane. Since 1934, the West Los Angeles couple had worked for Jaffe Publications — which also produced the Southern California Greeters Guide.
